Thanks for the boots ... my first use of them was in North Dakota last Sunday ... I did a long hike over dry, rocky ground for several hours and they were like floating on a magic carpet, especially for my aging joints (51 years old and falling apart fast) ... they are very comfortable ... will be recommending them to my friends around the country this fall during my extensive travels for the magazines ... I just purchased a pair of the 10" Sportsmans and am seriously impressed, particularly at this price. The leather is thick, excellent quality and the construction is indistinguishable from my other pair of Schnee's boots. I have no doubts that these will serve me well for a long time. Expect a follow-up report in 5 years...
