Schnee's Bozeman Boot
By: Dr. Brian Chisdak MD, DMD - Jul 18, 2007
Dear Schnees, I wanted to take a moment to rave about your new boot The Bozeman. I'm an avid archery elk and bird hunter who has honestly used over 100 different boots throughout 30 plus years of hunting. This boot is beyond comparison with regard to comfort and durability. There simply isn't anything else which comes close. There are very few boots which last one season from the abuse I give them. These boots lasted over 100 days of use with no problem at all. But as durable as they are, the comfort is even more amazing. From the moment I put them on, I was impressed. There honestly is no break- in time needed. They are the most comfortable piece of footwear I own. I wish I could wear them to work. Please send me 10 pairs so I'll never have to buy another boot. Please don't ever change a thing. Quite Impressed. Dr. Brian Chisdak MD, DMD
Cozy & Dry in the Amazon

Having high quality, water proof, light weight boots is critical to each expedition that I make to any of the world's rainforests. Pre-trip planning is critical to the success of each journey. Unlike many people who flyover, or make cursory visits to the fringes of the forest, my goal is to go deep into the jungle to harvest small pieces of tree stems, position the tree by GPS and make every effort possible to identify the tree being sampled. At the outset we realize that each tree is home to a plethora of microorganisms and these would include fungi and bacteria. We wish to recover these organisms and learn if they hold promise for uses in our society. Thus, these microbes can lead to the solution to many problems in agriculture, medicine and industry. As an example, the recovery of a totally novel fungus - Muscodor albus which makes volatile antibiotics will soon find use in US agriculture to disinfest soil. My first excursion to the Australian outback was an experience to remember. I wore some famous name brand trail boots that had not been designed for heavy wear and extreme environments. The hot sharp rocks of the Katherine area quickly made the boots ineffective and un-wearable since the souls disintegrated under the duress of the jungles in which they were worn. Now, Schnee's of Bozeman, Montana, have devised their own design and pattern for a great, light weight, water proof and handsome trail boot with a moccasin style. I tried a pair of these boots for my daily two mile walk to work at MSU through fields, trails and sidewalks. Snow, rain, and grit sometimes greeted my feet, and they kept warm and comfortable with the new trail boot of Schnees. The temperatures sometimes reached -30 F and the snow was, at times, at least 12 inches deep. Then I switched uses of the boots as I accompanied my Yale professor son, Scott, to the Bolivian and Peruvian Amazon during the rainy season. The boots endured miles of muddy trails and kept my feet dry and cozy. Ultimately, the boots dried nicely and were cleaned and polished by a street vendor in Cusco, Peru. And, because of their moc like design they can also serve for semi dress up conditions. In fact, I shall wear them this spring to give lectures at Yale to the same students who accompanied us on the rainforest expedition. It is so refreshing .. that the best trail boot that I have ever owned has its origins in Bozeman, Montana, with Schnees. - Gary, Montana State University Professor
Superior Ankle Stability
By: - May 30, 2007
The Bozeman boot, from the first hour on my feet, took me in comfort from the northern Minnesota forests through Dakota Country on to Montana, during the fall upland bird hunting season.?á A?áunique benefit experienced was their superior ankle stability, which is an improvement over any upland boot I have worn. - Dave
Awesome Boot!

I wore them in 10" of heavy wet snow. Was in it all day and they didn't leak a drop.
One Great Boot!

The new Bozeman hunting boot is hands-down the most comfortable boot I've ever worn. Right out of the box, they fit perfectly and I was able to hunt hard for 8 days during an early archery elk hunt without any blisters or break-in time before the hunt. The soles are soft enough to make a noticeable difference in reducing stalking noise. However, the boots have terrific ankle and arch support. Later in the season I wore the boots for approximately 20 days of upland bird hunting. They held up great in the heavy brush and CRP. The outsoles were perfect for sluffing mud and the light weight design made long days afield that much more enjoyable. Thanks for expanding Schnee's terrific brand of hunting boots with the perfect early season Bozeman model!
Durable & Comfortable

I've worn a pair of Schnee's Bozeman boots for an average of 3-5 days/week for the last 6 months, and I'd have to say that they are some of the most comfortable boots I have ever worn. Thanks to the thoughtfully designed footbed, they were comfortable right out of the box, and still are today. The boots are light and flexible enough to allow me to feel the ground under my feet, but provide ample support both torsionally and around my ankle (I have the high-top version). I expected them to be rather hot, but the Event liner kept my feet comfortable over a wide range of temperature. In spite of being grippy, the tread shows very little signs of wear. They almost look too good to be a functional outdoor boot, but they've held up extremely well to the punishment I've given them. I've hiked in them, mowed the lawn in them, shoveled dirt in them, crawled and knelt in them, and worn them for everyday use. With minimal care, they are still a great looking pair of boots, and I get compliments on them to this day.
Steamboat, Colorado

I recently purchased this boot and I should have never waited this long. This boot is the premier most comfortable uninsulated lace up boot on the market from my experience. They fit true to size and do not need any break in time. I wear these from the office straight to the field for early to mid season big game and upland bird from Colorado to South Carolina. I could not be more pleased with my money spent on these, congratulations on building this quality boot.
Waterproof?
By: John G. Jensen - Melrose, MN Nov 9, 2009
Purchased my Bozeman's at a PF silent auction. Returned for a different size, very prompt customer service. Very comfortable boot, like wearing a pair of tennis shoes afield. Waterproof, not so much. Feet are damp if hunting in snow, wet if I have to walk in any water, ankle deep or less for a short period of time, like crossing a shallow creek or the edge of a cattail slough. Have used Obenaufs leather treatment but still wet. Great if you don't have to walk near water, but here in MN, water is part of the game early season, definitely snow late season.
Wet feet

I puchased the Bozeman boots before the hunting season last year. They were very comfortable to wear right out of the box. Half way through the season the waterproofing started to fail and my feet got wet on every trip out. I wouldn't recommend this boot to anybody that hunts around water.
Not Waterproof
By: Tim Maier - Atherton, CA Nov 21, 2009
I am on my second pair of 6" Bozeman. The first pair leaked in both boots as Schnee's told me there was a manufacturing problem with the waterproof lining. Schnee's took the leaky pair back and sent me a new pair. Several months into the new upland season, the right book leaks severely just walking through wet tall grass. These boots are very comfortable to wear, except my socks get soaked and I hate wet feet. Fortunately, California is still warm this time of year. Just stay away from any wet areas, if you buy a pair of these boots - tough when hunting birds.
