DO NOT PROFESSIONALLY DRY CLEAN. What is the purpose of the Oil Finish Cover Cloth shooting patch and forearms? The purpose of the Oil Finish Cover Cloth shooting patch and forearms is abrasion resistance and durability. Many shooters carry a broken-down shotgun over their forearm, which means greater wear and tear on that part of the shirt. Also, the forearms often see more abrasion when crashing brush. Why does Filson make their 550 shooting shirts with Dry Finish Cover Cloth instead of Safari Cloth? Filson uses Dry Finish Cover Cloth instead of Safari Cloth, because they perform virtually the same way. Safari Cloth has a slighter softer hand that we felt was unnecessary in a rugged shooting/upland shirt. Blaze Orange Notice: Due to varying government regulations, C.C.
