Wow

I thought about, researched and reviewed these boots for 2 years before I pulled the trigger. They are some big game hunting boots indeed. Hunted a do it yourself elk hunt in NW CO this year and they performed flawlessly in all conditions and terrain. There is a break-in period in regard to being able to lace them up tight for hiking the ridges, but it is relatively short. Was concerned that a pac boot could stand the rigors of all day spot and stalk, hiking up and down ridges and grip on the mountain. I should not have been. Great product, I'm sold.

I was so excited when they arrived I wore them around my house. After reading the reviews and reseaching these boots and others in their class I was blown away at the quality and look of the boot. The picture in the catelog doesn't do it much justice. I had just retired a pair of duck hunting / whenever wet and cold boot and got the Bison 2. I felt dumb that I handn't come across the Bison sooner. I could not believe the ankle support and comfort of the boot. I can't make up my mind now on whether to get the Granite or the Beartooth boot now. Thanks for helping get through the next 20yrs of hunting.
Special Features of Schnee Pac Boots and ShoesHandcrafted in Bozeman, Montana 6-1/2 ounce full-grain oil tanned leather uppers provide support, protection, and durability along. 4 ounce oil tanned (not split) bellows tongues make for easy on/off and lacing comfort.
Solid brass logger eyelets and speed lacing hooks that won't corrode or bend open. Heavy duty Taslan laces for support and dependability in the field.
Schnee removable combination liners are quilted layers of Cambrelle nylon that wicks perspiration and improves durability, 400 gram Thinsulate™ insulation for significant warmth without the bulk of a normal pac style boot, and finally 3mm of wool felt on the outside of the liner adds comfort and insulates even when damp with perspiration.
Triple stitching with bonded nylon guaranteed not to fail for the life of the boots.
Handmade 100% rubber bottoms are waterproof, supportive, and durable. They feature firm thermal plastic heel counters that provide the support of an all leather boot and steel shanks that give arch support for comfortable walking all day long. We import the finest natural rubber bottoms that get pieced together by hand, then "vulcanized" the old-fashioned way. That makes them 100% waterproof.
Schnee's exclusive Advantage outsole features soft air bobs in the center and firm lugs around the outside edge. The result is outstanding traction.
Most Schnee Pac Boots fit easily into standard stirrups. Boots with extra insulation like the Extreme series will require oversized stirrups.
Schnee's Pac Boots are completely rebuildable. For a nominal fee, the entire rubber bottom can be replaced along with repair to the leather uppers and new stitching where needed. This is another sign of the true quality of our pac boots. Find out more about our rebuild services.
If you're wearing your boots day-in and day-out, we recommend picking up an extra pair of liners, so you'll have a fresh pair to wear each day.
Don't forget to get some Schnee's Premium Leather Conditioner to keep the leather uppers water resistant as well conditioned to maintain the quality of the leather. Odor-free and barnyard acid-proof.
If you're going to be in extremely wet conditions, we recommend McNett Seam Grip to reinforce the stitching and joint where the rubber meets the leather, so water can't sneak through the pin holes.
For long-lasting comfort and support, experience the customized personal fit of Schnee's Performance Footbeds with extra anatomical support to minimize foot fatigue.
