Unbeatable moderate weather Hunting wear
By: Jon Byrom - Oct 22, 2006
Abolutely the best moderate weather hunting boots I've ever had. I bought these about five years ago, after I had purchased the insulated Hunter II Schnees and enjoyed them while hunting in Pennsylvania. Since these fit up closer to my feet/legs, they took a little breaking-in for the leather to sofen up around my ankle area (I have skinny ankles). But since then, they continue to get more pliable and comfortable each time I wear them. Simply a superior boot.
good fall boot

True to schnees fashion these have excellent quality and workmanships. I had these built with Bison leather as a special order. While I enjoy hunting in them very much the only down side is there are no half sizes. I also have the insulated Hunter II boots and given the insulation these fit well. In the uninsulated version having to go up a half size encourages the boot to cave in just above the rubber at the ankle area making them somewaht uncomfortable. This is improving with more use, but half sizes would be appreciated. Wearing an extra pair of socks is helping, but this defeats in part the unisulated design for warmer weather hunting. All in all I would still highly recommend them to a friend. When compared to the "competition" boot from a well respected pac boot company the Schnees boot are head and shoulders above for quality.
Good Hunting Boot

I purchased the Schnee's Guide ADV 10" about five years ago. It has become my favorite hunting boot for small game/turkey/ bowhunting in the fall as well as spring turkey season. The ADV tread is perfect for hunting in mountainous terrain.

Stopped in at Bozeman store during a bird hunting trip to get first hand look at Schnee boots - sounded good on internet, but was concerned how they would function in wet weather hunting in western Oregon. Was assured by staff that use of seam sealer (permaseal) would do the trick. Used them this elk season and they were great, very comfortable boot and no leaks. They are uninsulated and work well in our westside temps. Very pleased with my Schnee pacs - finally got a boot that does the job. I went with the 13" and was glad I did- traditionally I use 10". Thank you Schnees for a great product!

I can't really say anything bad about the quality of these boots and the quality of Schnee's as a company. Great boot that really elevates the category to a new level. My only issue is that I have a high instep and issues with my feet that require a fairly roomy toe box. With the included insole, I had problems with the height of the toe box, as it was rubbing my toes badly. I replaced with a Black Superfeet...and voila an almost perfect fit. I plan to buy a pair of Hunter's next winter.
Have had these for 24 years.

I bought a pair of these in 1994 when working for Montaina FWP. Had one issue when the rubber separated from the uppers. Could have been my fault but sent them in for repair. Not only did I get them repaired for free but the company sent me a check for shipping. I tore it up. Customer service is Awesome and the boots are the best. I've worn mine through thick and thin for 23 years and they are finally giving it up. Time to buy a new pair. Thanks Schnees!!

Schnee's Guide ADV Product Details
6-1/2 ounce full-grain oil tanned leather uppers provide support, protection, and durability.
Triple stitching with bonded nylon guaranteed not to fail for the life of the boots.
Handmade 100% rubber bottoms are waterproof, supportive, and durable. They feature firm thermal plastic heel counters that provide the support of an all leather boot and steel shanks that give arch support for comfortable walking all day long. We import the finest natural rubber bottoms that get pieced together by hand, then "vulcanized" the old-fashioned way. That makes them 100% waterproof.
Schnee's Tire Tread outsole provide excellent traction, can slide easily in and out of stirrups and won't clog up when used in the field or the barnyard.
Most Schnee Pac Boots fit easily into standard stirrups. Boots with extra insulation like the Extreme series will require oversized stirrups.
Schnee's Pac Boots are completely rebuildable. For a nominal fee, the entire rubber bottom can be replaced along with repair to the leather uppers and new stitching where needed. This is another sign of the true quality of our pac boots.

Don't forget to get some Schnee's Premium Leather Conditioner to keep the leather uppers water resistant as well conditioned to maintain the quality of the leather. Odor-free and barnyard acid-proof.
If you're going to be in extremely wet conditions, we recommend Plastiseam Seam Sealer to reinforce the stitching and joint where the rubber meets the leather, so water can't sneak through the pin holes.
For long-lasting comfort and support, experience the customized personal fit of Schnee's Performance Footbeds with extra anatomical support to minimize foot fatigue.
