A well built boot
By: Bill - Jan 25, 2008
I've had a pair of schnee's boots for over 7 years. These boots have held up very well for me. I wear them 50+ days per year and some of that is serious hiking, mostly in snowy conditions. The leather is still like new and I only clean and treat them once or twice a year. I have been useing Montana Pitch Blend Leather Treatment. The soles have taken some abuse, but still have 2 or more good seasons left in them. I'm on the website to order a new set of liners for them, I ripped a hole in the heel of one liner. I'd recommend them to anyone who needs a medium weight back boot.
Second to None
By: Jon Byrom - Oct 22, 2006
After decades of frozen feet, blisters and wasted money; I bought these out of desperation about five years ago, hoping for the best and expecting maybe a little less than good. I was wrong - the Schnee's are the most comfortable and durable boots I've ever had, period. Warm and dry inside, regardless of the weather. Pennsylvania, Georgia, and Missouri hunting seasons are no match for these. And my feet have never been happier. They are worth every cent. After 26 years in the Army, I think I've come to know my boots.

Six seasons California pig hunts and Utah deer/elk in mud, bog and snow. You can't beat these boots for comfort and warmth. Never been wet.
Schnee's Hunters

I bought my Hunters in 1987 while living in Havre, MT. They have withstood rigorous mountain hunts in both MT & Colorado. I have never had better quality and durability.I had them re-soled once and expect them to last forever
Best Boots
By: Rick - Nov 25, 2009
I've hunted in these boots since 2003 and just had them rebuilt. They've kept my feet warm in every condition imaginable. Never had a blister even hiking 10+ miles a day in these boots. I wear a SuperFeet insole in mine. They are the best boots I've ever used.
First Season completed!
By: Tucker - Firestone, CO Dec 2, 2009
I have completed my first hunting season in my 13" Hunter II's, and have to say this will be the last pair of boots I ever own. I used them for a late season elk hunt in 15" of snow, and for a Mule deer hunt in October. The boots are the most comfortable boots I have ever owned. I could stalk for miles and the last thing I was worried about was my feet. The leather has formed around my calf, and if I could wear this boots to the office I would! You will not be disappointed with these boots, it is well worth the investment. You can buy one pair of Schnee's, that will last you a lifetime!
The best boot ever created
By: John - Albany, NY Dec 7, 2009
Through the years, like many sportsman, I have own all sorts of boots. Buying a new pair every two years or so. I have owned my Hunter II's (10") for nearly ten years now - they are incredible. They have been through pretty much everything - to long hikes in rugged terrain, sitting in my treestand in single digit temps, to wearing around town - they, are the best. Warm comforatable & rugged - simply perfect. I will never own another boot, other than Schnee's.
Even for the Smokies
By: Don Betts - Douglas, GA Dec 30, 2009
Got these for elk this coming fall. Tried them out on Mt. LeConte, NC during snow and ice and at minus 2 F. Hadn't really broken them in but they handled about 15 miles with steep trails easily. Very comfortable but best- they were warm and dry. Slept with liners so I had a warm boot in the morning while others were trying to thaw out their ice blocks called mountain boots. Great product.
poor quality
By: Mary Lussier - Enosburg Falls, VT Sep 17, 2010
I bought these boots last November and the rubber around the top of the boot started cracking, so I called Schnee's (it was still winter for us) and they said just mail them back and we will take care of it. I guess I thought when you pay this price for a pair of boots, they would last for longer then just a few months. So I received a call from Schnee's tonight when I got home and they said for a mere $89.00 + they would fix our boots and return them... LL Bean has a much better customer service they refurbish their boots and return them even after 6 winters at no charge. I'm sorry I spent so much money at this place, and received such a poor quality boot. I am disappointed!

I have owned the rest now I own the best. Thanks Schnees for such a great boot!!!

I used these boots on a Wyoming horseback hunt for Elk. They worked great. I did not have time to properly break them in, but they were very comfortable.

Good Quality and American Made
By: Chuck Fergus - East Burke, VT Jan 15, 2011
I bought these boots for hiking in cold conditions and for snowshoeing. They work very well, and their quality is excellent. My only complaint, and the reason I rated the boots at 4 instead of 5, is fit. I take a size 10 and was told that a 10 should be correct if I wear an inner liner sock plus a heavier-weight sock. I ordered 10's, but they were too small. Size 11 proved to be a good fit. To find this out cost me $14 return shipping -- not a big deal, but an annoyance. Bottom line: As an active hunter, hiker, and snowshoer, I highly recommend the Hunter II. I plan on ordering a pair of the Shnee Guides for spring, summer, and fall.
Great farm/ranch boot!
By: Jim - Corvallis, OR May 30, 2011
I'm a livestock breeder in western Oregon, and in winter I speed a lot of time walking soggy pastures, standing in cold mud in stockyards, and the like. No leather boot will stand up to this treatment, but rubber boots lack ankle support. I've tried other pac boots, but always ran into problems with fit, durability, and/or chafing. Not so with the Hunter II! I can stand all day in cold mud with warm, comfortable feet, and walk slippery slopes without turning an ankle. You can tuck your pants tops between the liners and leather tops, and keep them dry and clean without bunching up around the ankle. I wouldn't be without these boots -- they really improve my quality of life.
Best Pacs That Ever Tread

I have owned these boots for over 20 years. they have been re-soled twice. I have hunted elk, deer, pheasant, antelope and Christmas trees in them. They are comfortable and tough. Schnees stands by them. First rate boots and company.
Schnee's Hunter II boots

I love these boots and when it gets wet and cold they are what comes out to hunt with me! Very warm, comfortable, and great traction! What more could you ask for?
Grand Boots
By: Randy - Jan 8, 2012
Highest quality - a grand boot. Just finished my second season with 13" Hunter II in North Michigan and am very satisfied. My boots ran small: Initially I ordered my shoe size (11) and toes were severely "scrunched" even with light cotton socks. Schnee's happily exchanged them for next larger size (12) which fit much better. Wish I had two sizes larger so I could wear my heaviest wool socks.
Very,very good
By: Anthony - Wethersfield, CT Jan 4, 2012
I have 6 hunters in my family. We all have these boots. Comfortable, warm, excellent traction.
After a few years of use,my 2 pair cracked identically in the toe box rubber.I paid a portion of the charge for resoleing - I do not resent the fee but prefer more durability. Schnee's told me that happens with rubber/leather boots and there is no better option.
I can not find a better boot.

Hunter II Product Details 6-1/2 ounce full-grain oil tanned leather
uppers provide support, protection, and durability. Supple, full-grain, oil tanned (not split) bellows
tongues make for easy on/off and lacing comfort.
Solid brass logger eyelets and speed lacing hooks that won't corrode or bend open.
Heavy duty Taslan laces for support and dependability in the field.
Schnee removable combination liners are quilted layers of Cambrelle nylon that wicks
perspiration and improves durability, 400 gram Thinsulate™ insulation for significant warmth without the bulk
of a normal pac style boot, and finally 3mm of wool felt on the outside of the liner adds comfort and insulates
even when damp with perspiration.
Triple stitching with bonded
nylon guaranteed not to fail for the life of the boots.
Handmade 100% rubber bottoms are waterproof, supportive, and durable. They feature firm thermal
plastic heel counters that provide the support of an all leather boot and steel shanks that give arch support for
comfortable walking all day long. We import the finest natural rubber bottoms that get pieced together by hand,
then "vulcanized" the old-fashioned way. That makes them 100% waterproof.
Schnee's exclusive Advantage outsole features soft air bobs in the center and firm lugs around
the outside edge. The result is outstanding traction.
Most Schnee Pac Boots fit easily into standard stirrups. Boots with extra insulation like the
Arctic series will require oversized stirrups.
Schnee's Pac Boots are completely rebuildable. For a nominal fee, the entire rubber bottom can
be replaced along with repair to the leather uppers and new stitching where needed. This is another sign of the
true quality of our pac boots. Find out more about our rebuild
services.
If you're wearing your boots day-in and day-out, we recommend picking up an extra pair of liners, so you'll have a fresh pair to wear each day.
Don't forget to get some Schnee's Premium Leather Conditioner to keep the leather uppers water resistant as well conditioned to maintain the quality of the leather. Odor-free and barnyard acid-proof.
If you're going to be in extremely wet conditions, we recommend McNett Seam Grip to reinforce the stitching and joint where the rubber meets the leather, so water can't sneak through the pin holes.
For long-lasting comfort and support, experience the customized personal fit of Schnee's Performance Footbeds with extra anatomical support to minimize foot fatigue.
