From the Yukon and The Northwest Territories
"I have been a guide in the Yukon and NWT most of my life. I now own my own outfitting concession in the Yukon, Deuling Stone Outfitters. We offer Stone Sheep, Dall Sheep, Moose, Caribou, Grizzly, and Black Bear hunts with horses or back pack. I've used Schnee's boots for over ten years now and I use them for one reason- because they work.
I put them on at the end of July and don't take them off until the first week of October. I use them for my sheep hunts, which I have had to backpack more than a 130 lb. pack with no failure of the boot or blisters to my feet. I'm not bragging about the size of the load that I can take but only pointing out that we put our equipment to the test. If something fails us during the season, we have no corner store just "down the street" that we can easily get new equipment. That is not an option for us in the Yukon, we have to make sure our equipment will last, Schnee's do last.
I've used just about every kind of "recommended" boot on the market but none of them have stood up to the kind of punishment we put them through over the course of our hunting season and make it without blisters. Blisters have ended many a hunt. I recommend to all my hunters whether they come for a sheep hunt or a late season Moose hunt to purchase a pair of Schnee's, because they work."
